My work as a wedding photographer Saratoga Springs NY takes me to many different types of wedding venues and many different places. The area we live in, as Saratoga Springs wedding photographers, means we often work as a semi destination wedding photographer Adirondacks. People will come to this area for their weddings to take advantage of great Saratoga wedding venues such as Canfield Casino weddings, Yaddo weddings, Saratoga National weddings. But they often will head into the Adirondack Mountains for Lake George weddings or Lake Placid weddings.
With all of this incredible, world class destination wedding venues in the Adirondack Mountains, people from this area will often go elsewhere to get married.
Keylon and Douglas were married at a beautiful Provincetown wedding. They asked me, a wedding photographer in Saratoga, to travel with them to document their day. As a Saratoga wedding photojournalist, I was excited at the prospect of an oceanside wedding on Cape Cod. And I have completely enjoyed the many gay weddings and same sex weddings in the upstate New York area that I’ve photographed. I do get asked to travel as a wedding photographer many times to different destination weddings. And that doesn't exclusively mean going to some faraway country to create great wedding photojournalism. It means going to a favorite beach or mountains setting which is likely not very far away from your home.
A wedding ceremony on Long Point in Provincetown affords a sweeping view of the entire city. You get a feel for all of Cape Cod receding away from you, from that one solitary point that really is the end of the Cape Cod seashore. The open Atlantic ocean surrounds you on one side, the view of Provincetown is on the other. A friend performed their same sex ceremony, which took place not too long after same sex weddings became legal other states as New York State led the way.
Guests were ferried across Provincetown harbor by boat to arrive at the ceremony site. Married in the wide open ocean atmosphere with the sand and the sunshine. A simple ceremony with just close family and friends gathered out on the Point by the lighthouse. Their lives, sealed together with a promise.
Brought back by boat to the beautiful Anchor Inn on Commercial Street for their harbor side reception. In a covered area, right by the harbor, a waterside reception under a clear-roofed and open-sided tent. The unobtrusive tent affords sweeping views of the water, the boats and the moon and stars.
Blessed with perfect Cape Cod weather with that beautiful blue Cape Light, socializing, visiting, celebrating.
